Background: Penembre was left at the temple of Hermes by her mother, a
nymph named Aganippe, at a very young age. Aganippe had mothered the girl, by
the Hero, Podalirius, who then went off to war. Aganippe felt that raising a
half-mortal girl among nymphs was not fair, and so took her where she felt she
would be given a proper childhood.
Pembe herself was too young to recall, and no one else
knew who had left her, or why. Her fair complexion and sunny disposition caused
all around her to smile. Early on, she knew she was destined to spread the cause
of Hermes, and his love of athletics. She was raised in this regard, by one of
Hermes’ high priests, Konstantine.
From infancy, she excelled at racing and running. While
not a great student, her attitude and magnetic personality earned her high
regard from both her peers and the senior priests.
The girl grew into a tall, lovely young woman. And then
the temple was sacked, and in part, Pembe knew that the cause was that certain
men desired her. (It was a common tradition in her homeland for wars to start
over the desire of hot women. Part of the reason Helen moved to Midgard). And so
Pembe ran away, into the mountains below Olympus, to save her temple and loved
ones from the war she didn’t mean to cause.
She lived there for months, until finally, she had a
vision of a huge city floating in a cloud. She walked into the vision, which
turned out to be a portal, and wound up in Sigil.
Her smile and ‘can-do’ attitude soon found her working
as a barmaid, singer, and dancer at Post Practice, a local sports pub. After a
couple of years of shrewd betting and meager tips, she was able to enter Sigil
Prep, and quickly became a cheerleader.
Late in her first semester at Sigil Prep, she
discovered her mother, Aganippe, was a teacher there, and learned the secrets of
her birth, and that her friend Vander, was also her half-brother. She also began
dating football star, Krusk, and formed a band, Everybody Gets Laid.
She took a brief break from Sigil, accompanied by Krusk,
to revisit her roots, but Krusk felt like the stranger in a strange land, and
returned without her. When Pembe returned to Sigil Prep, they began seeing each
other again, and remain one of the school’s most stable couples.
Pembe has since risen to superstar status with her new
band, Hard Reign, composed of many of the same members as her previous band.
Krusk recently proposed, and though they had a rocky incident caused by a summer
fling with Tyriphus (Vander's father), they seem to be very happy.
Appearance: Pembe is a beautiful girl with rich, auburn hair flowing down
her back, most often gathered in pigtails, or a long braided ponytail. Her wide,
expressive face is not merely pretty, but beautiful beyond mere mortal keen
(thanks to both nymph and godly blood). Wide, piercing green eyes set off her
pale features against the dark reddish brown of her long tresses. She is tall
and curvy, and despite her curves, has a very tones and athletic body.
Pembe possesses tattoos of a small bear sporting the
Dragonmark of Caring (left breast), a seven stringed lyre wreathed in holly
(right shoulder blade), and the astrological symbol for Virgo (left upper arm).
Role-Playing Penembre: Pembe is both moody and impulsive. While she is
mostly cheerful, upbeat, and perky, she can become glum and reflective, though
she generally jumps back to perky almost instantly. She genuinely cares about
people, even people she doesn’t like very much. She tends to do the first thing
that comes to mind, often not considering consequences.
There is a sense of insecurity behind it all, though.
She was abandoned by her parents, then lost her foster father as a young teen,
and, even if only briefly, Krusk left her. These has made her especially
sensitive to perceived abandonment.

Frazier (hippopotamus): Hippo that Pembe rescues from Arkhad, and who she now keeps as a pet.
"Pappa" Konstantine (human Cleric-10): Priest of Hermes, who raised Penembre. He is a kind and gentle man, and one of the leaders of the small community where he raised Pembe.
Podalirius (half-celestial human
Cleric-15): Penembre's father, and a great hero of the Trojan War on her
Olympian home plane. Pembe has recently reintroduced him to her mother,
and hopes for the best.
