Background: Xara grew up in Myth Drannor more than 5000 years ago. When
House Dlardageth was destroyed, he was imprisoned in Nar Karymhoarth, and put in
stasis. Awakened by Countess Sarya, along with his siblings, he served as her
spy and followed her to Cormanthor, where her army was defeated. It was there,
too, that a young priestess of Lolth became obsessed with him.
Not wanting to be sold to her to forge an alliance
between daemonfey and Drow, he left to the north. Somewhere near Silverymoon, he
saved a young mage from a band of goblins. She happened to be an apprentice of
Alustriel, High Lady of Silverymoon.
Accompanying her back to town, he was arrested and
interrogated. When it became evident that he meant no harm, Alustriel invited
him to her castle as a guest, by way of apology.
He lived there for months in the guise of a sun elf, and naturally fell
helplessly in love with the High Lady (as nearly everyone does). He became a bit
too protective of her, however, leading to a near disastrous diplomatic incident
with a Thayvian ambassador.
Hoping to avoid such situations in the future, Alustriel sent
him to her sister Storm, who promptly enrolled him in Sigil Prep. There, he
became determined to make a mark somehow, and quickly consulted Maddie Weber to
form the Young Lords of Darkness, in answer to the long established Young
Knights of Myth Drannor.
Appearance: Xara, in his natural form, is lithe, golden-skinned, with
silver and black hair, red eyes, large leathery wings, and a tail. He wears
mostly black and red clothes, favoring spiked leather, straps, silk, and velvet.
He is very good-looking, and knows it, but because he often changes his shape
and even his gender, he seldom uses this advantage.
He has a graceful, regal bearing, which often comes off
as haughty and arrogant. Although this is a correct assessment, Xara feels it is
jealousy.
Role-playing Xaralynn: Xara is totally amoral, doing what he wants, when
he wants. He is usually calm, even friendly. He favors deception in conflict,
over force of arms, but when thwarted, he can be prone to fits of demonly rage
(or childish fits)
He is captivated by beauty and knowledge of all sorts,
but he truly loves only four things: his grandmother, his twin sister, Alustriel,
and freedom. Otherwise, other things (and even people), are viewed as pastimes
or toys.
He has no goals in mind beyond acquiring power (with no
plan or end in mind beyond the vague), and is content to explore at the moment.
He has taken an interest in the cult of Sharess.
