College of

Paladins

The Program:  Become the sword of your lord, a divine vessel for godly vengeance.  Sigil Prep is proud to be the first school to open this formerly Lawful Good-exclusive program to all comers, so you can be a paladin of another faith without tacking something cumbersome like "Of Freedom" or "Of Tyranny" to the end.

Many of the required courses for this program involve glowing with divine radiance, so freshmen are encouraged to wear sunglasses to the first few sessions.

Students are supplied with basic holy symbols.  You're on your own with the Holy Avenger.

"Even with all the moral restrictions lifted, I don't know.  I still feel kind of guilty about the Playnymph spread."  --Alhandra, graduate Human Paladin.

"Hmm?  Oh, yeah, sure, I'm a paladin.  I champion the cause of Leavemethehellalone, patron Goddess of indifference.  Can I go to bed now?" *rolls over* --Burvik, freshman Bugbear probably not a Paladin

"Oh, yeah.  Alhandra is a superstar with that laying on hands thing.  Buy me a beer, I'll tell you all about it." --Regdar, graduate Human Fighter

PALADIN UPPERCLASSMAN MAJOR EMPHASIS

Astral Weapon:  Let the power of the Astral Sea flow through you.  It sounds serene, doesn't it?  Well, forget that!  Use that Astral power to clobber up on some jerks!  Put the hurt on your gods' enemies, whoever you decide they are!  Plus, big glowy weapon.

"Yeah, I've got a Daily power that I can use several times per encounter!  Eat that... hells, eat that, everybody!" --Ersteen, senior Half-Elf Paladin

Champion of Order:  Learn to champion the cause of order.  There's no alignment restriction, so you don't even need to be lawful to do it.  On the other hand, if you decide to be a Chaotic Evil Champion of Order, you might want to hire a personal assistant to keep track of your smitings and stuff.

"You're the one who decided to take this class.  The syllabus specifically states I can ask you to clean my garage" --Alhandra, graduate assistant

Hospitaler:  The Hospitaler has a heavy emphasis on Healing.  Students are expected to put in lab hours in the school infirmary, as well as volunteer hours at local clinics in the poor areas of Sigil East.  Just think about the smiles on those Mongrelfolk kids' faces... no, wait.  Don't think about that.

"You'll be okay after a good night's sleep.  That's all abstract damage.  Next!"  --Merrick, junior Aasimar (or whatever) Paladin

Justiciar:  Champion of Justice!  Just Action!  Just Spirit!  Just Radiance!  Just Shelter!  Just sign up already!

"How many years have you been doing this, and that's the best you can come up with?  That's it.  I quit." *slam*  --Maddie Weber, junior Drow Cleric

Knight of Celestia:  Battling not simply for your deity, but for the glory of Celestia.  Which may be glorious if you worship Bahamut, somewhat uncomfortable if you revere the Raven Queen.  And very, very confusing if you worship the Mockery.

"A flicker of blue flame appears above my head when I use my powers?  What the hells is this?  Heironeous playing The SIMs?" --Alhandra, graduate Human Paladin
