Group Membership: Sigil Prep Cheer Squad (deputy captain), tanar’ri army
of the Blood War
Background: Moralulani is a Sigil Native, born and bred in the City of
Doors. She was born a tiefling, to a half-fiend father, and a yuan-ti mother,
and she lived as typical a middle class childhood as such a person could, with a
marilith grandmother and annoying succubus cousin dropping by, and living behind
the undead strip club, Necrophilia.
Mora has always been very close to her family, and
visits them quite often.
When she first arrived at Sigil Prep, she was very much
the typical Sigilian teen, speaking in planar Cant, and knowing the city outside
campus much better than those around her. She joined the cheerleading squad by
bribing Maddie Weber (or rather, offering her help in removing the gibberlings
that were eating her, in exchange for membership). For a while, she was in the
thick of many of the goings-on among the Azer Dorm residents, then, for reasons
of her own, she left school for a while.
She returned during Fall Break, and almost immediately
began a relationship with Vander, which was almost too-cute for words. She also
managed to become Deputy Captain of the Cheer Squad, by aiding the then-fallen Maddie Weber in reclaiming her position as captain. Things went pretty well for
her until Spring Break.
During a vacation on an island near Xen’drik in Eberron,
Vander had a momentary indiscretion with Amizath. Although Amizath called it off
quickly, this was an unforgivable offense to Mora, and she and Vander had a very
messy break-up, which lead to Mora leaving school once again. She spent some
time fighting in the Blood War, and when she returned to school, she had been
promoted all the way to Succubus.
Mora recently, through machinations of convenience,
tricked St. Cuthbert into leaving Malcanthet’s layer, which had recently been
conquered. As it was now “officially” unclaimed, she claimed it. Knowing,
however, she’d never be able to defend it from Malcanthet, she traded with
Juiblex, and now owns Juiblex’s layer of the Abyss. She has converted it into a
day spa, and has employed S’kkip to do the flunky work.
Mora spent some time as the RA of the sixth floor in Azer
Dorm. However, she has since dropped out of school to run her layer of the
Abyss/spa full time. Why waste time getting a degree, when you're already
making more money than your classmates ever will?
Appearance: Originally, Mora was a short, attractive (if not obviously
so) young girl with black hair and tiny, non-functioning wings. Tiny horns
protrude from her forehead. She wore a corset, and a newsboy hat and trousers as
part of her regular outfit.
As a succubus, she looks much the same, but
much more obviously desirable. Her wings are larger and fully functional.
Role-playing Moralulani: Mora is a fairly easy-going person, as long as
you’re on her good side. Like much of her family, she has elements of the
typical middle-class teenager, with the taint of the Abyss coloring some of it.
For instance, it wasn’t a difficult decision to use coercion and bribery to gain
a place on the cheer squad.
Still, Mora’s temper, when it comes out, is big and
volatile. She doesn’t let go of her anger easily once it’s directed at someone.
She maintains considerable grudges against Amizath
(for being the subject of Vander’s straying), Roxy d’Cannith (for being a slut
in general), Serina d’Deneith (for trying to
steal Vander from her once, although this one may be mending), and the Deneith
twins (largely for being Ami and Roxy’s friends). She’s extended this animosity toward
most anyone from Eberron.
Moralulani Supporting Cast
Beshilthemi (human Half-demon Fighter-8): Moralulani's father. He has a great "Dad" sense of humor, and was very pleased with her choice to date Vander, the freshman star of Sigil Prep's football team, though he is now torn between anger with Vander, and pride for his place on the football team. He lives in Sigil East, in a house behind the Necrophilia club, and engages in a refreshing mix of Abyssal demon and 50s sitcom Dad behavior. He loves that coin-behind-the-ear trick. And also that rip the ears off the Manes trick.
Drake: semi-reformed demon cousin
Uncle [Eater of Throats and Kicker of Small Dogs] (name translated from the abyssal; Balor): One of Moralulani, Kailey, and Drake's many uncles.
Gran (marilith): Moralulani's grandmother. She was originally a succubus, but has been promoted to her current station. She's a good baker, but bad at picking trick or treat candy. Her name is probably not "Gran" but that's what everybody who's interacted with her has called her.
Ghost of Mephie (cat ghost): Moralulani's parents' cat, eaten by Prissy Kitty but still haunting the place. Mephie is probably short of Mephit, but he hasn't been called that.
Prissy Kitty (fiendish leopard): A cub which Mora purchased at Bad Max's Exotic Pets and Butcher Shop. Prissy is notably ornery, and scratches and bites with abandon.
Saaleha (human yuan-ti tainted one Sorcerer-13): Moralulani's mother. Although a native of Sigil, she hates her daughter's tendency to use Cant. She's fairly motherly for a snake-woman, a wash-behind-your-ears-and-under-your-fingernails sort of mom. She also enjoys putting (non-lethal) controlled substances in cookies to give to Mora's little friends.
Uncle [Small Physical Violations That Don't
Sound That Bad Until You Think About Them] (translated from the Abyssal;
demon): One of Moralulani's numerous uncles
Comments: Mora is an active PC. Both periods where the character left
school coincided with breaks the player took, but she returned both times.
