KRYNN
Krynn pays a good deal of attention to its dragons. Oh, they're the same types of dragons everybody else has, but Krynn gives them all kinds of attention. For that matter, they have a pretty grandiose view of everything. Magic is "High Wizardry". No "High Elf" or "Sun Elf" for them, no sir. It's all "Kagonesti" and "Dargonesti". On the other hand, their minotaurs aren't any tougher than a tired orc, so its all subjective.
When traveling in Krynn, it's important to know all the names: Tanis Half-Elven, Raistlin and Cameron Majere, Tika, Tasselhoff, Mike the Unhappy Ogre. Moreso than any of the other core material planes, Krynn's culture is based around these iconic figures. Not knowing when Flint Fireforge Day is, or knowing to take off your helm in the Sturm Brightblade Museum marks you as a tourist right off the bat.
Getting to the Great Wheel from Krynn is a bit more complicated than from, say, Faerun. The inner planes are shared by both systems, so if portals are not available, that's your best bet. Note, however, that Krynn's Abyss isn't the same plane as Greyhawk's Abyss. Trying to get there via the Abyss is just trouble. As usual, use the Portal when you can.
Division A Schools
Academy of the Lance
Athletic Mascot: the Dragonriders
Colors: Gold and Silver
Popular Majors: Wizard, Barbarian, Fighter,
Cleric, Tinker (Artificer)
Alignment: unaligned
Founded some time back by the world famous adventuring party, the Heroes of the
Lance, the AotL is the single Division A school of Krynn. Many of its founding
professors now teach at Sigil Prep, though they maintain board positions at the
Academy. Because of this conflict of interest... well, we don't really care
about this conflict of interest. We kick their asses at football. Dragon
Jousting, they rule the roost.
Dining
Knights of Tarkansis: An oddly named diner in Tarsis, that specializes in a rare, exotic dish called chili.
Tourist/Cultural
Museum of the Lance: A museum in Tarsis, in honor of the Heroes of the Lance.
Day Trips
Tarrasque Island: On the backside of the world, the continent called Taladas, Tarrasque Island is a hidden, legendary island where tarrasques breed. It's more annoying than dangerous, as plot-constraints keep them from doing much more than loom.
Notable Inhabitants of Krynn
Caramon Majere (Human Fighter-20): Brother of Professor Raistlin. He is wholly good and trusting, and loves his brother unconditionally, no matter how many times he is murdered by him. He believes Raistlin to be weak and sickly and will rush to his defense at any perceived trouble. If there is anyone he loves more than his brother, it is his wife, Tika. Maybe. (I know, I know. This is based on out-of-date perceptions of the character. And he's dead. It's a comedy game. I'm looking for the funny). (Based on the Dragonlance character; property of WotC)
Nolan Watt (gnome Swashbuckler-9): Captain of the Fool's Quest, a ship on Taladas that Biklik used to get to Tarrasque Island
Tracy Hickman (human Expert-20): Human author, and chronicler of many of the adventures on Krynn. He tends to show up to correct people who confuse Tiamat with Takhisis, Paladine with Bahamut, and Tasselhoff with Lidda.
