Background: Biklik grew up in the Three Peak Valley, in the wilderness
about a hundred miles from the city of Luskan in the Forgotten Realms. He had a
rather traumatic childhood that was characterized by the constant death of his
friends and family. At the same time, he had to contend with his father’s
megalomania and extreme paranoia. All of Biklik’s siblings died young, so Biklik
got to be the sole recipient of his father’s magical training.
Eventually, the ambitious young kobold got sick
of living under his father’s shadow. So when the tribe was attacked by sorcerers
from the aggressive and vengeful Trintar tribe (Biklik’s Dad had told them sorcerers were
lame), Biklik looted the tribe’s treasury and made a run for it.
He spent six weeks attending the Waterdeep Institute for Underpowered Races. He
was kicked out of WIFUR after a month, however, for killing several orc
classmates in a Mage Duel.
After that, Biklik came to Sigil Prep, and
quickly made the acquaintance of S’kkip, a young Drow
flunky in need of a person to toady to. Biklik and S’kkip proceeded to attempt
all manner of poorly executed villainy. The results of this included being
incinerated by Shemeska for attempting to blackmail her, getting the stuffing
beaten out of him by Amizath after he sold all her
stuff, and managing to alienate himself from most of his dorm-mates.
During his second semester, Biklik had a number
of experiences that forced him to revise his world view. First he met the
disembodied stats of the kobolds of the Lost Plane of Pun-Pun who achieved
infinity and lost anything tangible as a result. From
this, he learned that maybe ultimate power wasn’t such a good thing. Then he got
chased around the planes by Fate, an inevitable dedicated to ridding the
multiverse of redundant entities, and wound up in Caina in trouble so big he had
to sell his soul to Mephistopheles to get out of it. Finally, he returned home
to discover his whole tribe was dead except for his priestess mother. His father
had even been turned into a Crypt Spawn, that was, naturally, out to kill him.
This whole chain of events has left him a bit out of sorts.
Biklik is a favorite student of Professor Meepo
(inasmuch as Meepo has favorite students), and founded the Kobold Weekly, a news
magazine for kobolds, though he has given up the day to day management of this
to Kendrek.
Biklik recently got accepted into a prestige program at
Morgrave University, and has left Sigil Prep, trading his flunky S'kkip for
tuition money.
Appearance: Biklik is about average height for a kobold, and has a very
slight build. He had brick-red scales and piercing red and yellow eyes. In
addition, he has a jagged scar across the left side of his muzzle. He usually
dresses in wizard’s robes or in simple traveling wear, and almost always wears
his red Cloak of Resistance and a garish gold Helm of Intellect.
Role–playing Biklik: Biklik has a classic Napoleon complex. Short and
physically weak, he counters his low self-esteem by trying to prove his
intelligence and capability to people the only way he knows how: by subjugating
them. Biklik is smart, and has a strong will, but rather than gaining followers,
he tends to come off more as an arrogant jerk.
He’s noticeably less evil and more friendly than he
once was, although much of the damage is done, and he’s not terribly popular. He
still enjoys scheming and rampant paranoia, and has no respect for (other
people’s) privacy.
Biklik seems to be losing it. He believes he is gaining
the ability to see the future, but his “predictions” are totally random, and so
far only one has come true. He probably needs more sleep.
Biklik Supporting Cast
Alpo, Arco, Almo, and Arpovich (kobolds): Some people Biklik knows whose names sound a little like "Arbco".
Bitie (weasel familiar): Biklik's familiar, Bitie, tends to disappear when not needed, like many familiars. He is devoted to Biklik, though he tends to be ornery, and enjoys biting as a hobby.
Lib-Lib (kobold Sorcerer-5): A member of Biklik's tribe, now deceased, who Biklik didn't like at all.
Likdrik (kobold Fighter-3): Biklik's uncle who was killed by Drow.
Ril-Ril (kobold Commoner-5): Relative of Biklik, who was killed by Fiendish chickens.
Uncle Rust'q (kobold warrior-4): One of Biklik's numerous relatives, who was banished from his village. Although humiliated, he seems to be one of the few who are still alive.
S'ttiv (kobold Warrior-3): A member of Biklik's tribe, now deceased, that Biklik sort of liked.
